Bio"if dreams were thunder, lightning was desire..."
life is a squeaky old merry-go-round of love and loss. in the single breath that constitutes each whirl round, i try to transform myself and others through writing, performance art and activism. sometimes the beauty makes me skip a breath, and sometimes the pain turns the playground to purgatory. how does one survive one's own emotional rollercoaster? how can we step through the looking glass together, instead of only one at a time? how could you hear the sounds of the sea and not follow? how will i reach far-off stars without shattering?
here are a few things that ward off the Nothing: my furry cat, muffy. my tortured cello. cups of soy chai. books by jeanette winterson. my growing library of critical, cultural, postmodern, gender, trans, and queer theory. my cocteau twins albums. my swans albums. my pj harvey albums. and nighttime is a true lifesaver.
i'm trying to grow into a pair of inked angel wings. i'm hell-bent on saving the world. i try to subvert gender norms at least once a day, and i really, really love to swim at night.
